How My Journey Began

I love food. Food is my love language. I inherited a love for cooking from my mom, eating good food brings me joy, and I even fell in love with growing my own food. Then a couple years ago when I became a mom, I got curious. Could food, this thing that I love so much, also have the power to help heal some health issues we were experiencing? The answers I found were yes, yes and yes! I was kind of shocked about what I was learning about food AND our food system. I was surprised that even though I considered myself healthy, was an athlete my whole life, and even worked in corporate health + wellness, I was actually clueless about nutrition. I started digging more and more—craving information—and my love for food, especially plants, grew into a respect and admiration for its power to not only satisfy our hunger, but to truly nourish our bodies and help heal + prevent disease!

I become an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach in order to work with women and families to provide resources and simple solutions so they too can harness the power of medicine that is in food and lifestyle.

I am married to my husband, Stephen, and we have two fun-loving kiddos. When I’m not in the kitchen cooking and experimenting with new recipes, I enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors hiking + biking. I call Charlotte, NC home, where I have lived since 2009. I have a degree in Exercise & Sport Science from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I also played Women’s Volleyball for 4 years, and a health coaching certification from The Institute of Integrative Nutrition.

Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.
